Overview
The purpose of the HomeOwner App is to provide video/voice calling, visitor management, notifications, and in-app services. We take your privacy seriously. In this policy, we explain which permissions the app uses, how data is processed, and what your rights are.
Usage of Permissions
- INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: For secure communication with the server, login, real-time calling, notifications, and payments.
- CAMERA: For video calls and QR code scanning features.
- RECORD_AUDIO: Microphone access during voice/video calls.
- MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: To manage audio routing/speaker/mic settings during calls.
- VIBRATE: To provide alerts for incoming calls/notifications.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To display notifications such as incoming calls and service updates.
- USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: To display the incoming call screen in full-screen mode.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL: To run call services in the background ensuring call reliability.
- MANAGE_OWN_CALLS: To manage app-initiated calls.
You can allow/deny permissions by going to Settings → Apps → HomeOwner App → Permissions.
Data We Collect
- Device Token (FCM): To deliver push notifications.
- Call Session Metadata: Call ID, caller/callee identifiers, timestamps, connection status. Media streams are processed in real-time; we do not store them.
- Usage Logs: Limited technical logs to improve app performance and error diagnostics.
- Payments: Transactional metadata via Razorpay or payment gateway; card/bank details are processed by the payment provider and not stored in the app.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Processes device tokens for notifications.
- WebRTC (Stream SDK or equivalent): Real-time audio/video calls. Media streams travel peer-to-peer/relay; no recording takes place.
- Payment Gateway (Razorpay): Processes transactions and follows its own privacy policy.
- Google Services: To integrate Android OS features like notifications/calls.
Data Usage
- To provide app features: calling, notifications, visitor/services management.
- Security and fraud prevention.
- To improve app performance and reliability.
- Legal compliance and support.
Data Retention
Call media (audio/video) is not stored. Session metadata and transactional records are retained only as long as necessary for service and legal requirements.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Limited data is shared with third-party service providers only for operational needs, under contracts and security controls.
Security
We use industry-standard practices, such as encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No system is 100% secure; we continuously make improvements.
Children’s Privacy
This app is not designed for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Your Rights
- Right to revoke/modify permissions.
- Control notifications in OS settings.
- Request data access/correction/deletion by contacting support, under applicable laws.
